Exhibition: June 6 – July 20, 2014

Join us for our fifteenth annual college student sculpture exhibition. In cooperation with the Galleries at Moore, PS will present “5 into 1” in the Wilson Gallery at Moore College of Art and Design. The exhibition will run from June 6 - July 20, 2014, with a special presentation by Lee Stoetzel, Director of the renowned West Collection, on Friday, June 6 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. An opening reception for “5 into 1” will follow from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

Two former “5 into 1” student artists were chosen to curate this year’s show. Aimee Gilmore received her BFA in 2013 from Moore College of Art and Design and Sarah Peoples received her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2012. The curators selected ten graduating students from five area colleges:

Moore College of Art and Design – Lucy Heurich and Veronica Perez
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts – Eric Clark and Matthew Herzog
The University of the Arts – Ryan Berardi and Ashley Carrega
Tyler School of Art – Larkin Dugan and Theresa Sterner
University of Pennsylvania – Anthony Bowers and Theo Mullen

The special presentation by Lee Stoetzel will complement the student works with its emphasis on outstanding contemporary art. In his talk "Art Works," Stoetzel will explore how cutting edge contemporary art can be used in a work environment to stimulate creativity, build team identities, and affect organizational change. The talk will present a rare opportunity to learn about the development of a collection that has brought together some of the best in contemporary sculpture, including many artworks from local artists. Artists interested in finding out more about the acquisition process are especially encouraged to attend.

More information on the West Collection is available at http://www.westcollection.org Lee Stoetzel has been acting manager of the West Collection at SEI Investments for the last 18 years.
