Daniel Hoffman

The desire to record is an inherent part of humanity. From cave paintings to the Bible, humans have always kept records of what we feel is important. These records of knowledge are not foreign; they are documentations of ourselves, our history, and the world we live in. They are records of the timeless flow of life.

The desire for understanding drives us to connect to this flow. The desire for connection is rooted in the desire for discovery. This piece stimulates that desire - a briefcase, overflowing with compilations of knowledge. However, the briefcase cannot be opened to reveal the books, and the books are ceramic. These rocky fossils hold the secrets of the world we live in.
