Darla Jackson

This piece is meant to show the consequences of war through the use of symbolism. The bird represents the casualties of either side, alone in a foreign landscape. The use of the case in this piece is to show that whatever happens over there is brought home to us in one way or another. War affects and changes everyone, no matter how far from it we are.

Bio

After graduating from the sculpture program at Moore College of Art in 2003, Darla Jackson continues to make and sell work in Philadelphia. She has shown locally at Qbix Gallery, The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, Muse Gallery, the Main Line Art Center and also has gone on to create group shows in her studio space, "Studio C". Her plans for the future include continuing to make art, curate shows and at some point attend graduate school for sculpture.
