When I first considered this project with its theme of travel and discovery, I thought about my travels: planning, purchasing plane and train tickets, packing and unpacking bags, and the hectic nature of traveling. Then I took a deep breath and thought about those times when discovery was more serendipitous. I remembered a song from the 1970’s: “Take a trip and never leave the farm.” Since I have been sketching tractors lately and making them in wire and large-scale steel rods, I decided to put a tractor in the case.

phrase “Time Lost is Never Found Again.” Bright colors suggest that time of the morning when all things are still possible. To accept the world and our own minds as a place of constant discovery is to embrace our limited time here and to make the most of it.
