A suitcase contains things that we want to hide from others. The subconscious hides the thoughts we don’t want other people to know about. In the bathroom we conceal our bodies to relieve the body of waste, cleanse ourselves, and apply makeup. I use the suitcase form as a jewelry box and fill it with jewelry that would cause physical pain or embarrassment (using elements from the bathroom and band saw blades), and makeup that is gooey and unusable. An alligator dressed like a ballerina spins on his toes in the middle of the box while music from a music box plays. These are visceral objects from my subconscious that represent the development of girl to woman.
