Danielle Siegelbaum


Bio:

Danielle was born and raised in Paris.

After a successful career in Paris in the fashion industry as a textile designer and in publishing as an illustrator, Danielle moved with her family to New York in 2007 the city of possibilities, to pursue and fulfill her dream to work as an artist without constraining her creativity.

Her work has appeared in the New Yorker and Sony hired her to design their Madison Avenue store windows. She has gained critical acclaim with exhibitions in New York art galleries, showing her contemporary paintings, sculptural works of art and Photomontages.

Now she lives in Philadelphia where she continues to explore and work, creating works of art expressing herself with different medium including wood and lucky to have the possibility to experiment in her Studio 515A @Bok Building.

Statement:

I am an explorer, an investigator, curious about social issues and, global societies, which I express in in a vast array of materials including wood.

My wooden objects, kind monsters, necklaces, masks, curiosities will transport you in a dreamlike word.

My work consists of mixed media sculptural works, carved wooden influences of unique civilization.

Each piece is a balance of shapes and colors with usually references to different cultures.

I am a story teller.

You will find a bit of surrealism, dadaism, pop art.

Humor, irony, derision are important elements in my work.
