Federal Reserve Bank Exhibition

  Opening reception Friday, June 1, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

When was the last time you visited Independence Mall? If it hasn't been for a while, now would be a great time to go. Not only is the construction taking off for the new Constitution Center, but there is also an exciting new sculpture show on display at the Federal Reserve Bank across the street.

20 members of Philadelphia Sculptors are exhibiting wall sculptures in the bank's
ground floor exhibition space. Participating sculptors are: Gianni Benvenuti, Stamatis Burpulis, Won Jung Choi, Raye Cohen, John Costanza, Peter Frantz, Fran Gallun, Brian Grow, Elfie Harris, Leslie Kaufman, Harold Kimmelman, Elizabeth McCue, Joe Mooney, Diane Pepe, Zygmunt Sawosko, Insook Seol, Judy Simpson, Carole Sivin, Chris Ward, and Dina Wind.

The exhibition will be on display from June 1, 2001 through June 27, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekdays. The opening reception is Friday, June 1, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Viewers should enter the bank from 7th Street, north of Arch Street.

For the second time, Philadelphia Sculptors is currently exhibiting work at the Federal Reserve Bank on Independence Mall (6th St., between Arch and Race Streets.)

Constructed out of many surprising materials, the sculptures suggest what can happen when walls reach into space.
