Artist Statement
In my work, I aim to tap into universal
archetypes...making multi-cultural references and seeing beauty in unexpected
places. I use what will become relics of the twenty-first centuryfound
manufactured objectsencrust them with paper pulp, and transform
them into iconic abstract sculptures in which common objects attain elegance
and the familiar is seen anew.

I love the versatility of paper pulp. I can make thin wet sheets to coat
objects or use handfuls of it to create rich textures. Multiple layers
of paint enhance and protect the surface and make what is light look heavy
and what is new look ancient.
