Artist Statement

Many of my sculptures have been clustered around three interrelated themes: bridges, houses and boats. To me, these three structures are metaphors for the varying combinations of safety and mobility which human beings require for survival. However, in these structures safety and mobility tend to be mutually exclusive; this creates tension, the physical and emotional parameters of which I am exploring through sculpture.
