Pat Musick Bio

I was born in Los Angeles, California in 1926 and have been an artist since I was four years old. My earliest memory is watching the Navaho woman who cared for me when my mother was ill weave her tiny beads on a loom to form rich patterns of mysterious forms and shapes. I was a Fine Arts Scholarship student as an undergraduate at the University of Southern California and went on to take additional art courses at Dartmouth College and Syracuse University. I earned a Masters and a PhD at Cornell in the early 1970s, and taught at Cornell, SUNY Oswego, Syracuse University and the University of Houston. I have taught at the Arkansas Arts Center and am currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.

I live with my husband Jerry Carr, a retired NASA Astronaut on a 109 acre preserve in the Ozarks. Together we have founded the Ozarks Woodland Sculpture Garden on a twelve acre meadow on our property.

Jerry is my Chief engineer, marketing manager and studio assistant. We work every day together to create the forms that you see.
