Call for Artists

September 5 – 26, 2018

Submission deadline: July 1, 2018

Philadelphia Sculptors, in collaboration with the Da Vinci Art Alliance, welcomes artists to apply to our upcoming exhibition, Shelter. Artists will have the opportunity to show their work in the newly renovated DVAA first floor gallery on Catherine Street in Philadelphia’s Bella Vista neighborhood. An institution long known for its support of artists and the arts community, DVAA is opening its doors to PS members, DVAA members, and all artists interested in submitting work for this new exhibition. All artists over the age of 18 and working in 3-D media are eligible to apply. There is a $25 submission entry fee.

Artworks must address the theme of “Shelter,” and are free to communicate their intent with dimensional media of their own choosing. Points of view can range from the personal to the political and everything in between. Artists are encouraged to explore different disciplines for inspiration.

Artist and curator Elaine Crivelli will be the juror for the show. Having spent many years away, she brings the benefit of her wide-ranging experience back with her as she returns to Philadelphia. All submissions must be made online using Slideroom. For artists who have not previously used this platform, instructions for creating a log in will be given once the Slideroom link is accessed. Artists who have already created a log in will use their existing one.

To Apply:

1. Click here for prospectus. You MUST read the prospectus before you apply and should print it out for your reference.

2. Click here for the link to “Shelter” on Slideroom. The $25 application fee allows for a maximum of 3 submissions. Existing work, as well as proposals for new work, may be submitted. You do not need to complete your application in one sitting, but it is helpful to assemble all the required materials when you prepare your application.
